We plan, think and act in our daily routine lives but it all halts or disturbs when we are not in good shape or health. So to enjoy and live a healthy life, food is an essential part. Not all food but a balanced food or diet is highly necessary as it protects a lot many chronic diseases like heart diseases, Diabetes, cancer etc and provides us all the nutrients to properly function our body parts internal and external both.
Balanced diet helps you feel more energetic and helps you fight daily life stress and pressure.
There are very few who have the concept of a balanced diet and most of them don’t pay any particular attention to balanced or healthy food intake. Mostly the reason is that most of our daily food picks contain all (or most) of our required food ingredients. But still we lack many and suffer different ailments in our daily life due to absence or low quantities of our required food ingredients.
The food provides us with calories, which we consume in breathing, walking, thinking and performing other functions. The example of a calorie rich food is cake, icecream, cookies, chips, fries, pizza, sodas, fruit drinks etc.
Our daily food intake must contain 60 to 70% of calories from carbohydrates, 20 to 25% from fat and 10 to 12% from proteins.
The rich source of carbohydrates are maize, wheat, rice etc.
Red meat, butter, cheese and ice cream are good for fat.
Similarly white meat, poultry, fish, eggs and dairy food etc are considered richest for proteins.
A balanced diet means eating/ consuming or drinking the right amount (in right proportions) of food to maintain a healthy body weight. There are many important food ingredients in a balance diet but seven are very important:
Most of us don’t know the actual benefits of a balanced diet. Following are some of them:

- It keeps skin, teeth, eyes and other organs healthy
- We have strong muscles
- Our immunity (Body defense against diseases) is enhanced

Fruit, vegetables and dairy products (one fourth/Fifth part of daily food) must be an essential part of our daily food intake.
The children, if they don’t get balanced food, suffer growth and development problems. Poor academic performance and frequent infections are also one of the causes of not having a balanced diet
The most important rule of a balanced diet is not skipping the meal because skipping meals means, reduction in your metabolic rate, which is a very vital function of our body from kid to adult to old age.
